    Description

Rogers Group Statues (as each individual statue was referred to) were immensely popular and affordable in late 19th century America, and they were shipped around the world. Rogers Groups vary widely in price, according to rarity. This is the only Rogers statue that consists of two parts.
John Rogers Studio in New Canaan, Connecticut, was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1965.
These statues have been restored by Bruce Bleier, the leading restorer of Rogers Groups. In 1971, his parents wrote the privately published book: John Rogers Groups of Statuary. In 2001, he republished the book, in expanded form, through Schiffer Publishing.
